For as long as I can remember, I've been a hot dog fan, but not just a fan of all hot dogs. I specifically love Carolina-style hot dogs; hot dogs with mustard, slaw, chili, and onions.
My earliest memories of hot dogs were when my family would go to "town" on a Friday night and grab hot dogs at either the original King's Sandwich Shop or at a new hot dog stand called The Dog House.
I also remember hot dogs at the Eagle Drive-In that used to stand at the corner of Roxboro and Old Oxford Roads in North Durham and the nearby Dairy Bar.
Perhaps one of my favorite hot dog memories is of the legendary Amos "N" Andy. That's not a typo; that's the way they spelled it.
